What’s this blog all about?
I’m on a culinary journey and want to thank you for joining me!
I am a wife, a mom of 3 (2 kids in college and 1 in high school–all living at home), and I work full-time. I don’t know about you, but I get tired of providing the same meals over and over for my family, week in and week out. I’m tired of having pizza night once a week because there is no time to get something nutritious or to plan a meal. I’m tired of feeling like a failure in the cooking department!
I was thinking about this and had this crazy idea. What if I could cook something different every night for a year? I could try out different recipes suggested to me on Facebook or my favorite website. I could taste foods that I’ve never tried in my 40 years on this earth (prawns? liver? poi? I could go on, but I might chicken out!) I could find a new favorite food!
I have decided to blog about this journey, for several different reasons. First, to serve as a journal so I can look back at what I could accomplish in a year’s time. Secondly, to serve as a recipe-box of sorts, so I can remember my family’s favorite meals and have the recipe at my fingertips. And lastly, it may inspire some other Mom out there to go beyond a box of macaroni and cheese for dinner.
So, here’s the deal. I am going to try a different recipe every single day and blog about it. That’s right, in a year’s time, my family would have tried 365 different meals! I will rate the recipe in terms of ease of cooking, cost, and taste. I will post a picture of the finished product and let you know how it goes.
Again, thanks for joining me on this journey. Let’s get to some good eatin’!
