Day 161–Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese cookies
Tonight, right after I got off work, we had to get ready to go to my husband’s office party. I literally had NO time to cook anything before leaving for the party, so I needed a quick recipe to make. I keep seeing this one on Facebook, everyone is sharing it saying they want to make it, so I thought, why not? I even told the people at the office party that I will send a bunch of these cookies to work with Todd the next day so they can try it.
It looks easy enough, with just a few ingredients. Roll out the crescent dough, spread on the cream cheese/sugar mixture, then add the peanut butter and chocolate chips. Roll it all together:
Now, cut it into cookie sized slices:
Sounds great, huh? Well, the only great part is the idea. This did NOT turn out ok!!
Yes, this looks delicious, which is why so many people are sharing it on facebook. But please, people, make it yourself before recommending it to the world!!
When I bite into a cookie, I expect it to taste like a cookie. Well, it does not taste like a cookie. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t horrible, but when you think something is going to taste one way and it actually tastes completely different than what what you expected, it kinda throws your tastebuds off and makes your brain confused.
I gave one to Todd and after biting into it, he gave me a funny look. Same thing repeated with Chris and Jacob! I think it’s the cresent dough. I believe the recipe should read that you need cookie dough, not crescent dough. I will have to try and make this again with actual cookie dough to see if it is any better. I don’t think I have to tell you that Todd went to work the next morning empty handed….. (and I had 2 dozen of these babies left over that NOBODY would eat here!)
Take my advice…skip this facebook viral recipe. Don’t waste your time OR confuse your brain!
0/5 family members would eat this again
